At BallyMotoring Driving School, we’ve been helping drivers succeed since 2016. Specializing in automatic driving lessons, we cater to learners of all ages and skill levels across South Dublin, Kildare, and Dún Laoghaire/Rathdown. Trust us to get you on the road safely and efficiently!
EDT
It is requirement of the Irish Government to complete a minimum of 12 Essential Driver Training (EDT) lessons in either a manual or automatic car if you wish to obtain a category B driving license in the Republic of Ireland. Each session is 1 hour. Price per session is 55 Euro – 66. All lessons will be done in either a BallyMotoring Driving School vehicle or in a vehicle with a valid NCT, tax and insurance as arranged by the pupil.
PRE-TEST
This two-hour session imitates a real driving test at a test centre of the pupil’s choice, and includes a remedial session after the result. The pupil is put into a real-life test scenario that covers the test routes, and the result is analyzed afterwards to remedy any errors. 90% of our pupils who have undertaken our Pre-Test lesson will pass their driving test the first time.
PRACTICE LESSON
Aside from EDT lessons, people need an average of 40 to 45 hours of driving practice to perfect their skills (inclusive of 12 hours of EDT lessons). This practice gives them the additional experience and knowledge that is required before attempting the driving test.
REDUCED ESSENTIAL DRIVER TRAINING
We also offer Reduced EDT Services for €350. This is meant for pupils who already hold a valid drivers license from countries recognized by the Road Safety Authority. This gives the student an opportunity to apply for an exemption of 6 lessons from the total compulsory lessons required on Irish roads. An application must be submitted to the RSA, and once approved, you will need to present the certificate to be eligible for the 6 lessons.

MOTORWAY LESSON
We cover motorway driving lessons in both automatic and manual cars for pupils of all levels so they will be confident driving on Irish motorways.
VEHICLE MANAGEMENT
It takes an average of 1 hour for your AA to come to your rescue if you break down. Time is money, why waste time? We teach you how to manage your car troubles, including the use of wheel spanners, jack and changing of tyres.
INTENSIVE DAY COURSE
This is an intensive 5 hour course which covers how to drive on all types of South Dublin and County Kildare roads, both in manual or automatic vehicles.
CAR HIRE
Our branded automatic driving school cars are available for hire for the day of your driving test. The pupil has the car 1 hour before the test time and does a 35 – 40 minutes remedial before the actual test begins.
